Russia Calling The Hel-Gators!
In April 2007 Hel-Gators was asked to play at Moscow,
"Rock Around The Kremlin - 53th Birthday of Rock'n'Roll"
-event.
Unfortunately they couldn't make it. Their guitarist Jama was already
occupied. The band left Moscow in tears, still waiting for Hel-Gator
blast off!

RHYTHM SECTION HAD A SESSION WITH
THE QUAKES PSYCHOBILLY GURU PAUL ROMAN!!!
Session happened 8th of December at Fox Road Studios, Helsinki.
Paul, Taneli & J. played some 50's rockabilly stuff like, Sonny
Fisher's Pink And Black,
Rock This Joint, just to get warm - then grabbed in their fingers
some 80's stuff -
Stray Cats, Polecats: Marie Celeste, Rockabilly Guy & Jeepster
(originally Marc Bolan hit).
They also played several times Echo & The Bunnymen hit Killing
Moon (Quakes version on their netsite).
At the end Paul insested that they would play his favourit from Voodoo
-album: I Came Too Late -
and so they did. Now Paul is back in the States, but let's see what
the future will bring.

Album includes bands own songs wich they've
introduced to audince at their latest, triumphal gigs.
They describe the sound & music of becoming album:

Kontufest is an outdoor festival at Helsinki's most notourious suburb
Kontula.
The Hel-Gators singer-drummer J. and guitarist Jama spended their
childhood and teenage there, and started their first bands at the local
youthclub.
At Kontufest they'll play on the same stage as their teenage heroes: Remu
& Hurriganes!!!

The Hel-Gators in studio
At the moment The Hel-Gators is making their first studio album
(work title: Straight from Hel! ). It will include only their own
songs.
Some of them are familiar from their live set:
Spin Of Love, Reelin', Rockin'& Shake and Skeleton Jacket for example.
J. explains the reason in his interviev for Pyros Press:
"The originals of the cover songs that we play live are so fuckin'
great - and we dig them so much - that we don't want to record them at
studio - at this point.
And anyways - you can hear our versions on the live cd - Rocking with
the Phantom... And of course at our gigs!"
